McAllen Shines is an environmental awareness campaign focused on educating and improving the cultural mindset of the population in McAllen Texas. The McAllen Shines Program is responsible for educating K-12 grades, university students, teachers, and community members about the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling. Additional environmental education topics include stormwater management, water conservation, tree plantings, landscape remediation and the importance of local beautification. 

In Partnership with the McAllen Independent School District we are providing McAllen Shines presentations to schools in McAllen. During these presentations children will be sworn in as “Official McAllen Shines Deputies” and will be provided with an official badge and certificate to authenticate their deputy status. This way students will help us share the knowledge and pride of keeping their community clean and beautiful.

For this presentations we request that all students are present. We can present to the entire school or rotate students by class levels and provide as many presentations during the day to give all children the opportunity to see the presentation and get deputized.
